Sikafloor®-09 Primer
is a 1-part, water-based, synthetic resin concentrate designed to prime porous cementitious substrates before applying cementitious mortars and levelling compounds. It enhances adhesion, reduces substrate absorbency, and minimizes the formation of pinholes or bubbles in the subsequent flooring layers.Â

 involves proper substrate preparation and a specific mixing and application procedure.Â
- Substrate Preparation: The cementitious substrate (concrete/screed) must be structurally sound, clean, and free of all contaminants like dirt, oil, grease, or loose material. Mechanical preparation methods such as abrasive blast cleaning or planing/scarifying are recommended to achieve an open-textured surface. All dust and loose material must be removed using an industrial vacuum or brush.
- Mixing: The primer is a concentrate and must be diluted with water. Shake or stir the container well before dilution. The recommended mixing ratio is 1 partÂ

 to 3 parts water by weight or volume.
- Application: The diluted primer can be applied to the prepared substrate using a squeegee, roller, paint brush, or suitable spraying equipment. Ensure a continuous, pore-free coat covers the entire substrate, and avoid puddles.
- Multiple Coats: For very absorbent substrates, a second coat of primer may be necessary. Ensure the first coat has reached its overcoating time before applying the second.
- Cleaning: Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Once hardened, the material can only be removed mechanically.Â
